After my mom passed away, I stepped into the role of helping my dad manage everyday life — coordinating his calendar, paying bills, ordering groceries, and handling the many details that come with losing a spouse.
I was grateful to be there for him, but somewhere along the way, our relationship shifted. Instead of simply being his daughter, I became his organizer and problem solver. I was so focused on helping him that I never truly had the time to grieve my mom.
When my dad unexpectedly passed away, I suddenly found myself responsible for settling both of my parents' estate. Even though my mom had done an excellent job organizing their affairs, there were still countless tasks: locating financial information, working with advisors, transferring accounts, coordinating an estate sale, closing utilities, notifying Social Security and Medicare, navigating probate, and so much more.
What I needed most wasn't another checklist. I needed someone who knew the process, could handle the logistics, and allow my brother and me to spend less time talking about business and more time remembering our parents.
That experience inspired K&K Estate Management. We help individuals and families navigate the practical and logistical details of estate management before and after loss, providing trusted guidance, organization, and compassionate support during life's most difficult transitions.
We handle the details so families can focus on what matters most: each other.
